Marple homes come with slopes, stone and character, and our resin bound driveways in Marple are planned around all three. We work across SK6, from the stone cottages in Marple Bridge to the semis at Hawk Green and Rose Hill and the houses near Memorial Park. A resin driveway gives grip and drainage on hilly ground. As specialists, we also cover Mellor and Strines.
The survey is free, and on Marple's hills we spend most of it checking gradients, drainage and walls. After that we send a fixed written quote with no obligation. The whole installation is completed by our own fully insured team, never sub-contractors. Our resin comes from The Resin Mill, and we are approved by Brett and Tobermore for borders and edging.

Customer opinions matter to us. Most of our work comes from recommendations, and here is what customers say.

Resin-bound surfacing gives a smooth, natural stone finish that lets water drain through. Here is what makes it a popular choice.
Rain drains through the surface into the base, so there is less run-off and fewer puddles.
A firm, level finish with no loose stones, comfortable for buggies, wheelchairs and bare feet.
An occasional brush and rinse keeps it looking fresh. No re-sanding or sealing joints.
Natural aggregates and blends from warm bronze to silver grey, with contrasting borders.
Where existing tarmac or concrete is sound, resin can be laid over it after repairs and priming.
Carry the same finish to the front path, steps and patio for a joined-up look.
Patios in MarpleNatural buff and warm bronze blends tone with Marple's stone walls and older brick, and they look softer than grey on a hillside street. We edge with setts or stone-effect blocks, build resin steps where a drive climbs, and can link the front path and a back patio in the same finish. Golden quartz can lift a shaded frontage under trees. A sound, well-drained tarmac drive may be overlaid.

A resin driveway is only as good as what is underneath it. We check the existing surface, build or repair the base, fix a firm edge restraint and lay the resin bound mix at the right depth for cars, using UV-stable resin from The Resin Mill so the colour stays true.
Stones and resin mixed and trowelled smooth. Porous, no loose stones, suitable for driveways.
Resin spread on the surface with stone scattered on top. Not porous, and some loose stone.
Prefer a different finish? Compare block paving in Marple or tarmac driveways in Marple.
A stable, well-drained surface can often be resin coated after repairs.
Standing water means the base needs work before resin goes down.
Soft spots and sinking need digging out and a new base first.
Block paving is usually lifted and a new base built for resin.

Marple sits on the western edge of the Peak District, where the Peak Forest and Macclesfield canals meet, and its streets climb steeply in places. Heavy rain runs fast down sloping drives, so the base must be permeable and well compacted, with channel drains at the gate or garage. Stone boundary walls are everywhere, and we work carefully beside them. Older drives here are often thin concrete that has broken up. Narrow lanes in Marple Bridge also need careful planning for deliveries. Stockport Council handles any dropped kerb.
We also lay resin driveways in these nearby areas, with the same team and the same guarantees.

Resin bound is weed resistant rather than weed free. Nothing grows up through a properly laid surface, but airborne seeds can settle on top and root in surface dirt. A brush, an occasional rinse and a weed killer once or twice a year keep it clean.
Yes, when the base and depth are right. A resin bound surface laid at the correct thickness for vehicles, on a sound base with a firm edge, copes with daily car use and all weathers. We use UV-stable resin so the colour holds rather than yellowing.
Often, yes. If the existing tarmac or concrete is sound, stable and drains properly, we repair any cracks, prime it and lay the resin over the top. If it is breaking up, sinking or holds water, we dig out and build a new base first. We check this at your free survey.
Resin bound mixes the stones and resin together and trowels them to a smooth, porous finish, so water drains through. Resin bonded (scatter coat) spreads resin on the surface and scatters stone on top, giving a coarser, non-porous finish with some loose stone. For driveways we lay resin bound.
Marple resin drives are priced on the area, the slope, the drainage the ground needs and the condition of the existing base. Steps, stone edging and work around boundary walls can also affect the cost, as can your choice of aggregate. We survey free and fix the price in writing before we start. Often it is. Resin bound is permeable, so a paved frontage needs no planning consent for drainage and run-off is slowed on steep drives. A natural blend suits the stone and the canal-side setting, and the bound finish will not wash down the hill like gravel. Weeds struggle without joints. Very steep sections need extra grip and drainage, and the base must be solid.
Usually not. A resin bound driveway is permeable when laid on a permeable base, so it meets the rules for front gardens in England that apply to hard surfaces over 5 square metres. Listed buildings and some conservation streets have extra controls, and we flag these at your survey.
