If you are after tarmac driveways in Timperley, our team covers the whole of WA15, from the inter-war semis on Stockport Road and around Thorley Lane to the bungalows near Riddings and the newer homes close to the Metrolink stop. We are local tarmac driveway installers who handle the dig, the stone base and the final rolled surface ourselves. The result is a firm, even drive that suits busy family households and copes with years of daily use.
A visit to your Timperley home costs nothing. We look at the size of the frontage, the existing surface and any drainage worries, and then you get a fixed written price that will not creep up later. There is never any obligation. The crew who arrive are employed by us rather than sub-contracted, and every job is covered by full public liability insurance.

Customer opinions matter to us. Most of our work comes from recommendations, and here is what customers say.

Tarmac is quick to lay, tough and good value over a large area. It copes with heavy vehicles, gives a smooth, seamless finish and is easy to maintain.
Timperley frontages are often modest, so tarmac makes sense where you want the most parking for the budget. Ideas that work well include a red tarmac drive with a charcoal kerb, black tarmac edged with a single line of setts, or a fresh overlay where the existing base is still sound. We also cut out cracks and potholes and enlarge the hardstanding so two cars sit side by side.
Want a permeable finish instead? Ask about resin driveways.
Water gets in, freezes and breaks the surface up further.
Once the surface starts to fret, patches rarely last.
Low spots mean the surface or base has sunk.
Old tarmac loses its colour and starts to look worn.

Timperley was largely built out between the wars, and many houses still have the narrow strip of concrete laid when they were new. Families now need space for two cars, so we often take out a hedge, shift a gate post or lift part of the lawn. Around Timperley Brook the ground can stay damp for days, so drainage is planned from the outset. Busy roads such as Stockport Road also make reversing out safely a real consideration. Trafford Council deals with any new or widened dropped kerb.
We also lay tarmac driveways in these nearby areas, with the same team and the same guarantees.

Often, yes. If the existing tarmac is sound and the levels allow, we repair cracks and soft spots, apply a tack coat and lay a new surface course over the top. If it is breaking up, sinking or would end up too high against the house or the kerb, we dig out and start from a proper base.
Tarmac (asphalt) is one of the most recycled construction materials: old surfaces can be planed off and reused in new mixes. It is not permeable, so on a front driveway we make sure rainwater runs to a lawn, border or soakaway rather than onto the road.
A well-laid tarmac driveway typically lasts 12 to 15 years before it needs resurfacing or major repair. Small repairs to cracks may be needed over time, but other than that it needs very little maintenance.
Very easy. A sweep and an occasional jet wash keep it looking good. Keep weeds off the edges and get any cracks sealed early so water cannot get underneath.
The price of a Timperley tarmac drive depends on its size, how much old concrete or crazy paving has to be broken out, the base depth and whether the parking area is being widened. Edging choice and any drainage channel also play a part. We price from a site visit, never a photo. Call 0161 841 7075 and we will book your free survey.
No. Our tarmac driveways are always laid by our own qualified and fully insured team. We never use sub-contractors, so the people who survey your drive are the people who build it.
For most Timperley semis, tarmac is a sensible and durable pick. The land is fairly level, so the challenge is drainage rather than slope: we fall the drive to a soakaway or a border to keep within the permeable surface rules. It handles a works van comfortably too. If you prefer a patterned or lighter finish, block paving or resin is worth comparing.
In England, a new front driveway over 5 square metres that is not permeable needs planning permission if rainwater runs onto the road. If it drains to a lawn, border or soakaway within your property, it usually does not. We plan the falls and drainage so your new drive stays within the rules.
